A new gym and sports complex is coming to Alderley Park later this year.
Opening in September, the new sports facilities will include a health and fitness suite, dance studio, sports hall, three tennis courts and a five-a-side all-weather football pitch.
There will also be new 7-a-side and 11-a-side football pitches and outdoor recreation areas.
The site will be managed by Everybody Sport and Recreation, the sports trust spun off from Cheshire East Council’s leisure services.
The new complex is part of a £160m investment from Alderley Park owners Bruntwood.
Chris Doherty, managing director of Alderley Park, commented: “The facilities and amenities at Alderley Park are all designed to help support a healthy work-life balance.
“Everybody Sport and Recreation shares our vision for the park and we’re delighted that they will be operating the new gym and sports facilities.”
We actually broke the news to our readers back in March 2017, when the project was first shared with Everybody employees – however we were asked to remove the article because finalising of agreements hadn’t been completed.
Peter Hartwell, CEO of Everybody Sport and Recreation, commented: “We’re thrilled to be running the new leisure facilities at Alderley Park and can’t wait to open our doors.
“We’ll be putting together a varied schedule of classes, ranging from indoor group cycling to yoga, which will be open to the all the people working and living at the Park as well as for the local community to enjoy.”
The announcement of the new gym comes off the back of the recent announcement that an additional £10m will be invested in a range of new laboratories at Alderley Park.
