In what is undoubtedly a swipe at rival manufacturer Porsche, one of Aston Martin’s top-selling dealerships has posted on social media today reassuring customers that they can ‘buy before Brexit’ with confidence!
The visuals from the post feature all the red carpet glamour you’d expect from the luxury marque, whose Wilmslow dealership sold more Aston Martins than any other showroom in the world back in 2016.
German rival Porsche revealed last month that its UK customers would be asked to sign a clause enabling the company to pass on potential import tariff costs – thereby increasing the final cost of their shiny new motors.
Today’s post from Stratsone Aston Martin states: “Place your order before 29th March, and Deal or No Deal, the original price on your Vantage, DB11, DBS Superleggera or Rapide AMR remains.”
Of course the uncertainty around Brexit has been playing out across national headlines for… well, what feels like forever, let’s be honest!
And the motor industry seems to be the most closely linked with the uncertainty and risks associated with the current political turmoil.
Aston Martin, unlike many of its competitors, is independently owned (after its spell under American control, through Ford).
Whether that is seen as an opportunity or a threat (come on, crack out your GCSE business studies SWOT analysis) only time will tell.
