Nantwich Jazz, Blues and Music Festival organisers are thrilled to announce that Liverpool band ‘Cast’ will be headliners for Sunday night’s concert at the Nantwich Jazz, Blues & Music Festival 2019, which takes place over the Easter weekend.
Originally formed in 1992 from the ashes of two of the most legendary and lauded guitar bands of all time, The La’s and Shack, Cast released four albums – one of which, ‘All Change’, became the biggest selling debut album of all time for Polydor Records.
Labelled ‘The Who of the 90s’, Noel Gallagher once described watching Cast play live as “a religious experience”.
The band split and went their separate ways before reforming in 2012 going on to produce an album full of the anthemic, melodic and beautifully-written songs for which they have always been loved by their fervent fanbase.
Abbigail Ellwood, Nantwich Jazz, Blues & Music Festival organiser, commented: “I am delighted that Cast are joining the festival this year, headlining on Sunday at the Nantwich Civic Hall.
“The Nantwich Jazz, Blues and Music Festival is now in its 23rd year and this is the first time we have organised the festival since the sad loss of Phillip Martin.
“It has grown to be an event that the town and visitors from farther afield look forward to every Easter.
“We are expecting tickets to see ‘Cast’ to go very quickly, especially on the back of their sell-out performance in Liverpool just before Christmas.”
Tickets are available for all of the event’s headline acts, including for the Saturday night triple bill – The Chris Bevington Organisation, Rebecca Downes and the highly accomplished Robbie McIntosh.
Thursday night’s headliner is Martin Turner, the ex-Wishbone Ash bass player. Friday sees the legendary Whitesnake guitarist Bernie Marsden take to the stage.
Completing the headline billing is Chris Helme, who was in the band The Seahorses.
A limited number of The Nantwich Jazz, Blues and Music Festival wristbands are also on sale at an Early Bird price of just £8.
The wristbands allow entry to all of the festival Round the Town venues, with over 140 events across the whole of the Easter weekend.
Full details with terms and conditions for tickets and wristbands can be found on the Nantwich Jazz, Blues and Music Festival website.
