Nantwich Museum is celebrating Christmas with a sing-a-long concert of Christmas music led by the Wistaston Singers.
The concert is free, although donations to the museum are always greatly received. Drop-in between 11am and 12pm on Saturday 22nd December 2018.
It’s an opportunity to visit the museum shop, where a wide range of goods are available, including Christmas cards and other greeting cards, games, toys, souvenirs, craft work including jewellery, books, cheese/chopping boards, jams and chutneys.
New this year are mugs with scenes of Nantwich, and Nantwich 2019 calendars.
Among the range of local interest books is the recently published ‘Nantwich Pubs’ by local authors Andrew Lamberton and Bill Pearson.
The book has proved very popular and provides historical information on an important part of the social scene of Nantwich, making it an excellent Christmas present.
There is also a special offer available for those wishing to support the museum by becoming a friend, with no subscription renewal required until April 2020.
Membership includes email newsletters, discounts on talks and events, invitations to exclusive member events and an opportunity to vote at the AGM.
Individual membership costs £20, and for families £30. Application forms are available from the museum or can be downloaded from the museum website.
As well as the permanent displays telling the fascinating story of Nantwich and the surrounding area, visitors can enjoy two temporary exhibitions (the 2018 Nantwich Camera Club photographic exhibition and ‘Empowerment of Women – a local perspective’) both of which run up to the new year.
Admission to the museum and exhibitions is free.
The museum will close 4.30pm Saturday 22nd December 2018 and reopen again at 10.30am on Wednesday 2nd January 2019.
As an independent charitable trust run by its members and a small staff, the museum is financed by donations, sponsorship, commercial activities such as the shop and various grants.
