Swansway Motor Group proved it had bakers to rival those on TV’s bake-off, producing cakes, biscuits and buns galore across their 22 locations; the family owned group is based in Crewe and has four dealerships in the town, Audi, Volkswagen, SEAT and Jaguar.
Emma Goodall, the dealership marketing manager who co-ordinated the Macmillan Coffee Morning event across the group, explained: “As a family-owned business, we always try to get involved in fundraising for charities which touch family life.
“Sadly cancer is something that touches us all, in one way or another and the Macmillan coffee morning is a great way of getting staff together and raising money for this fantastic charity.
“I wouldn’t normally call myself a baker, but I had a good go and produced a chocolate cake which seemed to go down well!”
Across the dealerships the group raised over £2,500 for Macmillan.
Swansway Group director David Smyth commented: “I felt I had to take part, so I did my bit by visiting quite a few of our dealerships and eating plenty of cakes!
He added: “In all seriousness our staff really rose to the challenge and I’m delighted they’ve raised such a significant amount for this brilliant charity.”
