Commemorative sunflowers, celebrating East Cheshire Hospice’s 30th anniversary, have sprung up in towns and villages across the region.
Blooming for two days only – 7th & 8th September – the bright yellow ceramic tributes have been purchased by supporters to help mark the hospice’s 30th year as well as raise funds to help the hospice continue its work.
There are still some sunflowers available for purchase, with anyone wishing to buy their own ceramic tribute being asked to visit the hospice’s website for further details.
Anyone who makes a purchase will be invited to leave a personalised message in the charity’s special online book – and all proceeds from the sale of sunflowers will go towards helping to fund hospice care for the next 30 years!
The ceramic sunflowers were designed for East Cheshire Hospice by local potter Caroline Tattersall from Poynton Pottery.
Each flower is handmade and glazed, and would make a beautiful garden ornament.
If you miss the opportunity to see the sunflowers this weekend, they will be a display again at the hospice in Macclesfield from 10th until 14th September (9am-5pm).
They will then be available for those who’ve purchased them to collect from the hospice on select dates at the end of September.
In addition, there will also be a special service in the hospice chapel on 16th September, starting at 3pm.
