The motor trade has always had a great reputation for bringing on apprentice technicians, but, as the digital world becomes ever more important, family-owned Swansway Motor Group has recognised the importance of training young people for the digital world.

It will be employing two digital marketing apprentices this year.

Swansway group director John Smyth explained: “We’ve always been great at training young people ‘on the spanners’, but, with the importance of digital marketing ever increasing we’re now adding apprentice training for our screen based world.”

“We always like to stay ahead of the field and there are few companies in our sector truly harnessing the power of digital marketing.

“We want to grab every opportunity to open two-way communication with our customers, and in the process we’ll be offering young people from our local area the opportunity to begin a 21st century career.”

North West-based apprenticeship programme, The Juice Academy, will help Swansway recruit, train and engage young people from the local community, with a view to them becoming a powerful online force for the company.

The Juice Academy founder and chair, Sandy Lindsay MBE commented: “This is a great opportunity; Swansway has an excellent track record of nurturing apprentices and putting them on the road to a life-long career.

“This is the first time Swansway will be opening up the marketing world to apprentices and we’re all extremely excited to see what they can do!”

Swansway will hold a recruitment ‘bootcamp’ day in partnership with The Juice Academy to recruit the first two apprentices.

This will take place at Swansway Jaguar Crewe on Thursday 18th October at 9am.
