Guests at a Las Vegas themed Ball raised almost £100,000 for local children’s charity, the Children’s Adventure Farm Trust on Saturday 2nd December.
Held at Mere Golf Resort & Spa, guests were joined by CAFT patrons Noddy and Suzan Holder, John Thomson, Melanie Bishop and Catherine Kingston - all of whom were delighted to be part of the fantastic night of fun and fundraising.
The charity’s 20th annual ball was attended by 300 guests who were greeted with a sparkling cocktail before their Vegas-themed night unfolded!
Elvis was very much in the building, entertaining those in attendance as they took their seats in the breath-taking room decorated by the charity’s staff and volunteers.
The event opened in true Las Vegas style with dancing girls accompanying host Andy Ashworth to the dancefloor, before performing a show-stopping number with ‘Elvis’ singing Viva Las Vegas.
There followed an evening full of fun and fundraising with lots of surprises along the way, including a special Christmas cracker raffle which saw one lucky winner leave with a beautiful 18ct white gold and diamond necklace.
Coronation Street star Sally Carman was joined by Shameless actor Aaron McCusker to draw the grand raffle which had a top prize of a luxury three night break in the Costwolds, a trio of afternoon teas and even a gigantic 4.5 litre bottle of whisky!
But that was just the start as the charity had secured some amazing prizes for both the silent and live auctions - including a VIP trip to Chester Races, the John Bishop experience and a once in a lifetime holiday to Vegas itself!
Live music was provided by the Deadbeats who filled the dancefloor for the duration of their set before DJ Neil Bebbo rounded off the evening until carriages arrived at 2am.
Events fundraiser Pippa Watton commented: “This was such a wonderful night, our guests really are the best!
“Our staff and volunteers work so hard on this event and its so rewarding for us all to see everyone having such a great time.
“Every year we are blown away by the generosity of our guests and this year was no exception.
“To raise almost £100,000 in just one night is astounding, we’re all still reeling!
“This money will make such a huge difference to the children visiting us here at the Adventure Farm and we can’t thank everyone enough for their unwavering support.”
