Heston and Waitrose dish up a saucy duo for Valentine’s Day

Heston Blumenthal is helping diners to ‘couple up’ their romantic meals with the perfect match this Valentine’s Day.

The famously ‘alternative’ chef is introducing a duo of sauces into his Heston from Waitrose range – which pair perfectly with meat and poultry.

Blumenthal commented: “I wanted to give those cooking delicious meals at home this Valentine’s Day a way to make their dishes extra special.

“My new sauces are sure to win hearts with great ingredients and a unique infusion of flavours.”

 

Heston from Waitrose Bone Marrow Sauce

Inspired by one of Blumenthal’s own restaurants, The Hind’s Head, the Heston from Waitrose Bone Marrow Sauce is a rich, beef stock-based sauce.

Made with diced shallot, white wine, Dijon mustard, sherry vinegar, lemon juice and bone marrow, it’s an ideal accompaniment to steak.

It can also be served with beef for an extra-special romantic roast dinner.

 

Heston from Waitrose Five Mushroom Sauce

Another of Heston’s latest creations is the indulgent Heston from Waitrose Five Mushroom Sauce.

The sauce features five different mushrooms – trompette, flatcap, chestnut, oyster and shiitake – which are combined with chicken stock, white wine, sage and pepper.

For a curious twist, it is infused with Heston from Waitrose Citrus Sherbert Lazy Gin giving a zesty, fresh finish from the botanics and citrus flavours in the gin – elevating an everyday chicken meal to a show-stopping dish for a special occasion.

 

 

The new Heston from Waitrose sauces are available in store and online, priced at £2.49 for 200g.
