Local council elections take place on 2nd May.

They will elect both borough councillors and town/parish councillors for the 2019-23 term.

Both Cheshire West and Chester Council and Chesire East Council are holding sessions for potential candidates and agents to inform them about how to stand for election, what the legal requirements are and how the local election process works.

Cheshire West and Chester Council

Andrew Lewis, returning officer for Cheshire West and Chester Council, said: “Becoming a councillor is a great way to make a direct and positive impact on the daily lives of people in your community.

“In Cheshire West and Chester, councillors play a vital role in shaping the future of their local communities.
