Jakki Humphreys has been shining bright, raising money for The Christie hospital in Manchester.
The Christie means an lot to Jakki, as she explained: “At just 15 months old my nephew was diagnosed with brain tumours; he had 5 brain operations and 18 months of intensive chemo and through it all The Christie were extremely supportive to my brother and sister in law.”
Jakki joined her boyfriend Anthony on The Christie’s ‘Night of Neon’ walk walking, covering 10 dazzling kilometres to raise money for the hospital.
The Christie urged all the walkers to don their brightest neon clothing, dig out their glow sticks and leg-warmers to take part and raise funds.
“My nephew is now 11 and doing well, so this is my way of saying ‘thank you’ to the Christie and all its amazing staff,” added Jakki.
Jakki’s works as a parts advisor at Swansway TPS Manchester and her fundraising was supported by a donation from family-owned Swansway Motor Group which makes a donation to employees who take part in charity fundraising events.
