John Lewis in Chester is inviting craft producers from Cheshire and North Wales to a Makers Market event it hopes to run initially on one afternoon/evening each month.
The plan is to hold the event inside the store on the Greyhound Retail Park in Saltney, and the response to the announcement has opened up the possibility of it becoming a regular event.
Christian Burton from the store explained: “We know our customers would enjoy the theatre of a market environment featuring the best locally produced crafts and that producers would relish the chance to showcase their range in front of our customers.”
He added: “At this stage we’d like craft producers to get in touch and tell us about their products and register their interest for the makers market.”
Spaces are limited and there are no plans to charge for tables or space during a three month trial of the concept.
Producers are encouraged to contact Christian by email [email protected] to find out more.
