Did you know that keeping your home empty is costing you over £11,000 a year through potential lost rent, increased Council Tax charges, higher insurance premiums and utility bills?
Well help is at hand as Cheshire West and Chester Council are running empty home roadshows that have been designed to help provide empty home owners with the advice and support they need to bring their empty home back into use.
The roadshows will take place at Northwich Library on Wednesday 8th February and Winsford Library on Friday 17th February. Both sessions run from 10am-2pm.
Cllr Angela Claydon, cabinet member for housing and Lord Mayor of Chester, said: “Dealing with the borough’s empty homes is a big priority as each empty home is a wasted resource that can be used to provide much needed housing for residents in the borough.
“Our empty home roadshows are taking place across the borough and provide empty home owners with advice and support, as well as informing them of the range of grants and loans available to help bring their empty home back into use.
“The council's Empty Homes Team will be available to answer any queries empty home owners may have, such as probate and legal charges, so why not attend one of the roadshows and find out how your home could start providing you with additional income rather than costing you money.”
