This November, Lumen (Crewe’s very own ‘Night Of Lights’) will transform, illuminate and animate Crewe town centre.
This free and exciting, winter-themed event will welcome local families and visitors alike to explore a range of stunning attractions throughout the town.
The main attraction (which has never been seen in Crewe previously) will be a mesmerising video mapping show.
Portraying a winter fairy tale, it will be projected, full-scale, onto the Crewe municipal building’s façade.
The stunning projection will take viewers through a spectacular snowy, sooty, Victorian Crewe to tell the story of an unlikely pairing, a chance encounter and amorous pursuit.
Crewe’s Memorial Square will be lit up by the magical luminescence of woodland creatures, giant flowers, shining stars and glistening ice drops.
As well as this, a ‘Fox Lady’ puppet will be engaging children on walkabout performances around the town.
Santa’s Grotto can also be found in Lyceum Square, along with a winter market containing an eclectic range of food and gift stalls.
A magical lantern procession from Lyceum Square will arrive later in Crewe’s Memorial Square.
At 6.30pm, the mayor of Crewe Cllr Brian Roberts will switch on the town’s Christmas lights and – for the very first time – the Crewe’s beautiful ‘Night Of Lights’ projection will begin.
The spectacular event is being organised by Crewe Town Council and supported by a wide range of local and partners.
The event will take place on Friday the 23rd of November (5-8pm) and will include the annual Christmas light switch on.
