Macclesfield College says it is delighted to be teaming up with Macclesfield Town Football Club for the 2018/2019 season as the Silkmen make their return to League Two of the English Football League (EFL).
The partnership will see Macclesfield College feature on the back of the team’s first kit for all EFL games well as being represented on a pitch side advertising board throughout the whole season.
The college will also appear in each edition of the club’s match day programme.
On top of this, Macclesfield Town FC has given the college ten U25 season tickets to be awarded to students (more details on this set to be revealed in due course).
It’s an exciting time for the town’s football team, following promotion last season when thousands of fans lined the streets of Macclesfield to celebrate the club’s title win.
Rachel Kay, principal and chief executive of Macclesfield College, is delighted with the new partnership. She said: “Both Macclesfield College and Macclesfield Town Football Club are starting a new chapter this August and we’re both on an upward curve.
“It’s brilliant to see the town’s football team doing so well on the pitch and our new partnership will help give the college even more exposure.
“We’re hoping the team have another great season and a really good run in the FA Cup would give Macclesfield some great promotion.”
A spokesperson for Macclesfield Town FC added: “We’re so pleased to be able to announce this partnership with Macclesfield College.
“It’s so important for us to partner with successful organisations and this partnership with the go-to place for school leavers and adult learners gives us just that.”
Both the College and the team are looking forward to Macclesfield Town FC’s first home game this Saturday (11th August) at the Moss Road stadium.
