The next production at MADS Little Theatre in Macclesfield will be Noel Coward’s Private Lives.

It runs from 10th-15th September, with booking open from Monday 20th August.

Amanda and Elyot had three tempestuous years of marriage, passionate and fiery by turns.

Now divorced from each other, they are both honeymooning with new spouses – in the same hotel!

They meet, of course, and the flame between them reignites and they elope together on impulse.

However, they find their relationship to be just as stormy as it ever was, with hilarious consequences!

Playing Elyot and Amanda are Andy Cantillon and Suzanne Copeland, with Toby Cordwell and Amy Leech as the unfortunate new spouses, Victor and Sybil. Lolo Bedotto plays Louise the French maid.

Award winning director Cameron Chandler directs this effervescent and very funny play, assisted by Connell Costello – a newcomer to directing, but no stranger to MADS stage.

Cameron said: “Amazingly, MADS has never performed this play before.

“Although written in 1930 it remains incredibly modern and relevant to today’s attitudes. It also happens to be very, very funny, with great energy.”

Tickets cost £8-10 and are available at or by phoning 01625 611 974.
