‘May the Fourth’ be with Macclesfield

Saturday May the Fourth – better known by some as Star Wars Day – will see Macclesfield town centre visited by galactic forces once again thanks to Macclesfield Town Council.

From 10am until 4pm, well-known Star Wars characters will join the international Star Wars Day celebrations and visitors will be able to enjoy meeting some of their favourite characters.

There’ll be plenty of photo opportunities as Helena Gowler explained: “We are really looking forward to welcoming the Star Wars characters to the Town Centre again for Star Wars Day.

“Last year was a huge success with so many people taking the opportunity for a photo with their favourite face from a galaxy far away!

“This year there will be lots more characters wandering around the town centre. We are really looking forward to seeing everyone’s photos from the day.

“It would be fantastic if people come dressed up to join in with the fun – maybe even creating a mini Comicon!’

The force must be strong in Macclesfield as this year’s event follows on from the success of last year’s Star Wars Day when characters visited the town centre and brought a smile to the faces of families, customers and retailers.
