Organisers of Middlewich FAB Festival are thrilled to announce the support artists for Friday night’s concert with Peter Hook & The Light on 15th June.

The announcement comes with perfect timing as the last chance to buy discounted tickets before the early bird offer ends is midnight on 3rd April 2018.

Three northern bands – Déjà Vega, The Mysterines and Weekend Wars – will be supporting the main headline artists at the Friday night concert.

Déjà Vega, originally from Winsford, return to Middlewich FAB Festival for the second time, following their success as support artists at last year’s Saturday night concert.

Having recently released their debut album recorded at Edge Studios in Alderley Edge, Déjà Vega are gaining more of a following, supporting other big indie bands, and they have previously been called ‘Manchester’s best-kept secret’.

Déjà Vega are vocalist and guitarist Jack Fearon, drummer Tom Webster and bassist Mike Newton.

After forming in Cheshire, they made the short journey to Manchester, a fitting backdrop to their gritty, guitar-led psychedelia.

Rhythmic, rage-fuelled and boasting surging riffs, Fearon’s hypnotic slurring lyrics lurch in and out of poetic chants, battling over chaotic drums and the razor-sharp bass lines underneath.

Live, Déjà Vega demonstrate that they’re a force to be reckoned with.

They will be joined by Wirral-based The Mysterines, who have the wonderful accolade of seeing their first gig completely sell out. The trio, still in their teens, have been acclaimed as having “talent and professionalism well above their collective years”.

Other newcomers to Middlewich FAB Festival are Weekend Wars, who were formed in late 2015.

Comprising four university friends, who challenge the preconception that northern guitar bands have an abundance of attitude and swagger, Weekend Wars are known to be uniquely attitude-free and draw upon everyday life as inspiration for their music.

Ticket sales have already proved very popular with a lot of excitement around the upcoming performance of Salford lad (and Macclesfield resident) Peter Hook, a founding member of internationally acclaimed bands Joy Division and New Order.

The ‘FAB’ value early bird ticket prices are:

– Adults, £19.50 per person

– Under 16s, £13 per person

– Family tickets (2 adults and up to three children under 16 years), £57.50

All ticket prices are inclusive of a booking fee. Full details with terms and conditions can be found on the website.

Dave Thompson, FAB Festival and events organiser for Middlewich Town Council commented: “It’s fantastic for us to host Peter Hook & The Light this year and we can’t wait to welcome them.”

Dave added: “We continually strive to deliver a festival programme for everyone to enjoy and I’m sure this year’s line-up will do that, and not just Friday night but all weekend!

“As always the FAB Fringe FREE LIVE MUSIC programme will provide endless choice for thousands of residents and visitors to enjoy.”

Concerts taking place on Saturday and Sunday will continue to have free admission, with new events and more artists to be announced soon.

Tickets for Friday night’s concert on June 15th are available to buy from www.fabfestival.co.uk
