MORE ABOUT MALBEC: AN EVENING OF FOOD & WINE PAIRING AT ARIGHI BIANCHI IN MACCLESFIELD
In recent years the Malbec grape has produced some of the most popular red wines in the world, however there are many different styles from this single variety, depending on which country and wine region where the grapes are grown.
At the ‘More about Malbec’ evening with The Wine School of Cheshire, you’ll enjoy a selection of superb examples of Malbec wine from all around the world and see how they work with different flavours, as each will be matched with mouthwatering canapés and the cheese selection from CaféBar Arighi.
The Arighi Bianchi store in Macclesfield will be closed to the public, and CaféBar Arighi will be exclusively open for guests of the wine school to enjoy for the evening.
Your wine selection will be presented by wine writer, presenter and educator Richard Smith, who is also the founder of The Wine School of Cheshire.
Richard commented: “Over the last few years Malbec has become one of the most popular red wines in the world, especially those from Argentina, however there are so many wine styles from this single variety.”
He added: “There is so much to discover in one enjoyable evening! Find out where it all started and what it is about Argentina that makes this wine taste as it does when produced in this now famous South American wine producing nation.”
There will be at least six different wines to enjoy, all sourced from local wine retailers – all available at prices that won’t break the bank!
There will be one or two treats included in the wine lineup too, and the detailed wine tasting notes provided on the night will be available for you to follow as the evening progresses.
You can also take these home with you to continue your education! (Don’t worry, there’s no exam at the end – although there may be some homework if you’re lucky!)
Canapés and cheeses will be served during the evening. Vegetarian and specialist dietary options can be made available by prior arrangement.
Richard will share with you some of his 27+ years of knowledge of all things wine as well as some anecdotes (but alas, no secrets) from his time as a butler.
Richard trained at one of the world’s finest hotels and is proud to have advised several members of the British royal family as well as a number of international heads of state and celebrities.
He recently appeared at Three Wine Men in Manchester alongside TV wine legends Oz Clarke, Olly Smith and Tim Atkin, and has presented English and Welsh wines in partnership with Wines of Great Britain for three consecutive years at The RHS Flower Show Tatton Park.
