More than 1,000 jobs available at Manchester Airport

Manchester Airport is offering job hunters the opportunity to ‘take off’ in a new career early next month.

As the Northern gateway prepares for its busiest ever summer, more than a thousand roles have become available.

Those seeking a job are being invited to attend a special event on 7th March at Lancashire County Cricket Club to learn more about the positions.

Roles on offer include lounge agents, drivers and security officers. Applicants will be offered full training if successful.

Manchester Airport is one of the largest employment centres in the North West.

More than 25,000 people are directly employed on site, supporting a further 45,000 jobs in the region.

Swissport,, Boots, Dnata and the Clayton Hotel will all be recruiting at the event, alongside the airport itself.

There will be a huge variety of jobs available with on-site partners including cabin crew, baggage handlers and customer service roles.

There are also apprenticeships, graduate schemes and managerial roles.

Brad Miller, COO at Manchester Airport, said: “The airport is gearing up for another busy summer.

“That means there are hundreds of jobs being created.”

He added: “Our last few jobs fairs have proved hugely successful with thousands of people securing work across the site and we’re looking forward to another great event this year.”

Last year was another record year for the airport that saw more than 28 million people pass through its three terminals.

Work on the airport’s £1bn transformation continues at pace too, with first parts set to open to passengers in April.

More than 1,300 people are now employed on the project.
