2018 World Rally Championship blasts off in Birmingham
Visitors to this week’s Autosport International Show at Birmingham’s NEC will be treated to a very special sneak preview of the 2018 Wales Rally GB (taking place 4th-7th October), the UK’s round of the FIA World Rally Championship.
All of the WRC stars will be present on Thursday (11th January) to launch the eagerly-anticipated 2018 series which blasts off with the world famous Monte Carlo Rally later this month before travelling the globe and then returning to Britain in early October.
Thursday at the show will truly be a WRC takeover, but fans attending over the weekend will still have the opportunity to whet their appetite for the season ahead as the cars will remain on display and there will be plenty of driver appearances.
Sébastien Ogier – the Frenchman who clinched his fifth World Championship title three months ago in Wales – will be officially opening the motor sport show on Thursday morning.
He will then be joined by all of his WRC rivals on the main stage, as the four top teams representing Citroen, Hyundai, M-Sport/Ford and Toyota reveal their new 2018 cars.
We'll keep you posted on Wales Rally GB news, as it is expected to return to the county in a similar fashion to the previous two years' runs.
