Due to the location of the collapse, in the centre of the road, the route remained closed throughout on Tuesday and Wednesday, and overnight into Thursday.

An temporary diversion is in place along Seven Sisters Lane, Chelford Road (A537) and Adams Hill, operating in both directions.

The council announced in an update today (Thursday 16th March 2017) that the road will partially reopen late this afternoon with temporary traffic lights being put in place.

The advice to road users is to plan their journey and avoid the area if possible. Temporary road diversions remain in place while repairs are undertaken to the damaged drainage system.
