Northwich River Festival: Saturday 14th & Sunday 15th July 2018
Northwich Rotary Club, with the support of Northwich Town Council, is staging the second Northwich River Festival this July.
The festival aims to raise awareness of Northwich’s two rivers: the Dane and the Weaver.
Organisers are also raising funds for the festival’s two nominated charities – The Alzheimer’s Society and the RNLI.
Building on the success of last year’s event, Northwich River Festival 2018 promises to be bigger and better – with a number of varied attractions being incorporated.
The stand-out event from 2017, The Mighty River Weaver Dragon Boat Challenge is set to make a return on the Saturday and will see teams racing between Town Bridge and the Odeon cinema.
There will also be raft racing taking place on the Sunday at the same spot.
Other activities will include a market as well as charity and trade stalls, children’s rides, emergency service displays, duck racing (on the River Dane) plus live music in River Park and Baron’s Square.
To round off proceedings on each day, two nights of concerts.
Audiences can enjoy ‘Pop in The Park – A Tribute to ABBA’ on Saturday, and ‘Proms in The Park’ on Sunday.
