The first details of this year’s Wilmslow Community Show have just been announced.
Organisers will be hoping the weather plays its part this year (they’ve had to abandon a few shows due to wet weather, and last year’s was an absolute scorcher which meant a number of last-minute alterations to the programme).
This year, the ever-popular dog show will be returning in a bid to find, amongst others, Wilmslow’s waggiest tail and the town’s best rescue dog.
Show organisers will be welcoming Wilmslow Dog Grooming Boutique & Spa as this year’s sponsor of the dog show ring and there will be doggy games as well as the displays and competitions.
A full schedule of events is also coming together for the main arena – the headline acts this year include a motorbike display and a BMX display as well as the return of the dog and duck display team.
Whatever your age, if you’re inspired by the BMX display there will be a range of bicycles to try out in the ‘free activity area’.
Cycles to try out are set to include penny farthings, bikes with wobbly wheels as well as unicycles.
Entries are now being taken for competitions in the Horticultural Marquee too.
Whether you grow flowers and produce or you’re into handicrafts or cookery, there is likely to be a class for you.
There are also handicraft and cookery classes specifically for under 18s. Details of the classes and entry forms can be found on the show’s website.
This year’s Wilmslow Community Show will be held on Sunday 7th July at Wilmslow Carnival Field on Altrincham Road.
