Bovis Homes site manager named as one of UK’s best house builders
Oliver Cookson of Bovis Homes Mercia won a regional title in the third round of the Pride in the Job Awards 2017.
He was recognised for his dedication to building homes of exceptional quality for his work on the Loachbrook Meadow site in Congleton.
Now in its 37th year, Pride in the Job is among the most highly regarded competition in the house-building industry, dedicated to recognising site managers who achieve the highest standards in house building.
Judging for the awards is rigorous, and began in July 2016, with each site manager assessed across 44 areas of site management - including technical knowledge, consistency in the build process and the quality controls in place.
Oliver, was selected from more than 16,000 UK site managers, and was one of twelve to be recognised at a ceremony held at Hilton Manchester, Deansgate.
He will now go on to compete for a ‘Supreme Award’ to be announced at a gala ceremony in January 2018.
Oliver commented: “I’m absolutely thrilled to have won the award – it’s going to take some time to sink in – but I wouldn’t have achieved anything without the fantastic team that I’ve got on site.
“But for their hard work, I wouldn’t have been getting up on stage to collect this award.
“I think we all bring the best out in each other and they respect me and I respect them – it’s a two-way street.
“We’ve got great team at Loachbrook Meadow, who work conscientiously, want to do the job well, and build homes that we can all be proud of.”
