For the first time, Roberts Bakery is opening the doors to ‘The Exploratory’ and is looking for budding bakers and wannabe bread makers to join in the celebrations.
At the very heart of innovative thinking for the Northwich bakery brand, The Exploratory is the place where Roberts Bakery’s inspired ideas are imagined and brought to life.
Whether that’s adding a dash of plum vodka to an unsuspecting teacake or jazzing up a roll with some racy aromatic spices, everything Roberts makes starts out in The Exploratory.
Roberts Bakery’s managing director, Stuart Spencer-Calnan, said: “The Exploratory is a bit like Wonka’s chocolate factory, but with less cocoa and no squirrels.
“It’s a place where creativity is currency, where mistakes are embraced and where the word ‘impossible’ is a no-go.
“And here we are, just like in Roald Dahl’s book, giving our special visitors the chance to experience Roberts Bakery at first hand – how we work, the secrets behind our success and the chance to take part in our own very special ‘Bake Off’ competition with a twist.”
On Wednesday 28th March, Roberts Bakery will be inviting family, friends and longstanding supporters along to The Exploratory for a sneak peek behind the scenes of the UK’s next generation bakery.
Also on display will be Roberts Bakery’s street art collaboration with the internationally renowned Brazilian-based artist Mateus Bailon.
The walls of The Exploratory provided Mateus with the perfect blank canvas for his trademark vibrant illustrations of exotic birds and plants.
As well as enjoying a previously unseen tour, a lucky 13 (a baker’s dozen) will also get the chance to test their tastiest techniques to create the best, and hopefully somewhat bonkers, bakes.
They’ll also enjoy a delicious spread made from Roberts’ brand new, innovative range as well as some previously unseen and untasted products.
Karol Roberts, the brains and driving force behind the introduction of The Exploratory at the bakery’s HQ, said: “Following our recent relaunch and repositioning, this continues to be a hugely exciting time for us as a brand.
“The Exploratory is central to it. It underpins the rebrand and roll out of what was a radically new identity, positioning and product offering, which we’re pleased to say is now available in all major supermarkets and convenience stores across the UK.
“So what better way to celebrate our success and showcase our commitment to baking innovation than by opening the doors of The Exploratory?
“And we just can’t wait to find out what is the most brilliant bake of the day.”
The Exploratory launch event is invite-only, but there are two remaining places for the Roberts’ Baker’s Dozen up grabs – each winning a chance to take part in the ‘Bake Off’.
