Rossendale Trust tenant on track for charity run

Shares

Lucie Bevan, a long-term tenant of the Macclesfield-based charity the Rossendale Trust, is taking part in this year’s Manchester 10k Run on Sunday 20th May, joining hundreds of other runners taking part in the well-established race.

Macclesfield MP David Rutley, who is also patron at the trust, joined Lucie for one of her regular training sessions at Macclesfield Leisure Centre recently, along with her mum Ros and Jodie and Jenny (both members of staff at the trust).

Lucie has complex health challenges including cerebral palsy and severe learning disabilities – neither of which, however, have stopped her from taking part in the race.

Jodie and Jenny have been inspired to support her on the run and assist with Lucie’s fundraising endeavours.

The Rossendale Trust is aiming to raise £3,000 which will be used to fund the vital work that the charity does to support local disabled adults to live more fulfilled and independent lives.

Donations can be made to Lucie’s JustGiving page, or by texting Lucie5 or Lucie10 to 70500, to give either £5 or £10.

David Rutley commented: “It was great to meet Lucie and have the opportunity to join in with her training.

“The commitment and enthusiasm of her care team are truly inspiring, and I know that all at the trust are incredibly proud of what they are achieving.

“I wish Lucie every success for the Manchester 10k, and hope that as many local residents in and Macclesfield will support these positive endeavours.”
