Sandstone Ridge Festival unveils 2019 programme

The Sandstone Ridge Festival has unveiled its programme for May 2019 – and it is bigger and better than ever!

Spread over six villages and lasting four days, the annual festival of art and literature has become a firm favourite in the Cheshire calendar and runs this year from 16th-19th May.

Appearances by internationally-recognised writers Jimmy McGovern and Jasper Winn among others, and the as-yet-unnamed speakers at the Oldie Magazine Lunch at Cholmondeley Castle on Friday lunchtime, will ensure interesting and lively entertainment.

This continues, with a talk by the team from Liverpool Locations about their involvement with films and TV programmes – from Harry Potter to Peaky Blinders.

There’s also a chance for everyone to join in with the massed choirs for Songs of Summer at Bunbury Church, and an art exhibition will be held at the Burwardsley Art Hub again where visitors can enjoy over 20 local artists displaying their work in this beautiful setting.

Folk band ‘Merry Hell’ will be presenting their multi-award-winning show in Tattenhall on Friday and local band ‘Brass Monkeys’ will be performing the following night in Malpas.

As well as this, there are many talks and demonstrations on canals, gardening, writing, opera and horses in and around the villages – taking place in thirteen venues.
