The search is now on to find the country’s best small shop.
Businesses across the area can put themselves forward for a chance of being crowned 2018 winners, with Tatton MP Esther McVey encouraging entries from those in her constituency.
Ms McVey said: “We have great shops across the constituency and I’d urge them to get involved and tell their story.
“Local shops play such a vital role in the community and it is right their work and dedication is recognised.”
The competition is open to any small shop in the UK selling goods or services.
Entries for the ‘Best Small Shops’ competition will be judged by a panel of established representatives from the independent retail industry.
They will be looking for entrepreneurial spirit, innovative ways of doing business and what has been done to create a lasting positive impact on the community.
A shortlist of 25 will be invited to Parliament on 13th November to meet their MP where the winner will also be announced.
Nominations close on Sunday 9th September. To enter, visit: www.bestsmallshops.co.uk
For the purposes of the competition, a small shop is defined as: “a non-corporate business selling goods or services to the public for use or consumption rather than for resale, from a business rated premises in the UK”.
