Christmas in Sandbach - 2017
There is plenty happening in Sandbach this festive season, with Sandbach Town Council and numerous local organisations coming together to make it a magical time of year for all.
Here’s a run down of a few events taking place:
(1) Christmas Lights Switch On
Sandbach Christmas Lights Switch On will take place on Saturday 25th November and everyone counting down to the illumination has the opportunity to win a family ticket to see Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs at Crewe Lyceum.
Simply enter your details onto the Christmas Lights leaflet and submit at the switch on event. The Christmas Lights fun starts at 2pm with entertainment and fairground rides on the Cobbles. Visit Santa on his sleigh and join in the countdown to the switch on at 5pm.
(2) Christmas Market
Sandbach town centre will ring with the sound of brass bands and carol singers as what is billed as the best Christmas market in Cheshire fills the Cobbles, High Street, Little Common, Town Hall and Indoor Market on Friday 1st December.
Stall holders dressed in festive costumes and the unmistakable aroma of mulled wine, hot chestnuts and a hog roast all add to the ambience and make the Christmas Market a treat to visit.
Over 130 stalls will be offering a range of goods - including children’s toys, door wreaths, clothing, paintings and artwork, handbags, cards, candles, soaps, knitted goods, tableware, jewellery, glassware and cushions.
A vast array of delicious foods - such as craft ales, liqueurs, muffins, mallow cakes, chilli condiments, pesto, cheese, pies and preserves - will make shopping at the market a delight.
Commencing at 3pm, the Christmas Market compliments the town centre’s independent and specialist shops, which will remain open until 8pm.
There will be stalls selling hot food and drinks and all the town’s restaurants and cafes will be open until late for visitors to enjoy the Christmas spirit.
(3) Win Santa’s Chalet
Visit Santa at Sandbach Christmas Market and you could win his beautiful wooden chalet, kindly donated by a local firm. This could be for your school, playgroup, club, favourite local charity or a deserving person.
For your chance to win simply complete the nomination slip with your name and your nominated winner, plus the reasons why you think they should win the chalet.
To enter, post the nomination form in the dedicated postbox outside Santa’s Grotto, located on the Little Common at Sandbach Christmas Market on Friday 1st December (3-8pm).

(5) Tree of Light
The annual Tree of Light Ceremony provides the opportunity to remember loved ones and share treasured memories at this special time of year.
Stars, showing each person’s dedication, are placed on the tree prior to the ceremony which will take place at Sandbach Cemetery on Thursday 7th December.
