The Mere Golf Resort & Spa scooped the Silver Flag Award at this year’s 59club Service Excellence Awards which took place at The Grove on 26th February 2018.
The event, now in its eight year, honours the best golf clubs and resorts from around the country, recognising those that have constantly strived to achieve service excellence through commitment to guest satisfaction.
In order to obtain this award, a visit was carried out by 59club mystery shoppers and testers of the finest golf clubs and commercial venues who award venues on a points system.
The Mere scored higher than other venue, allowing the team there to collect the prestigious Silver Flag award.
As part of the benchmarking criteria, numerous factors are taken into consideration, including the customer focused service, the operations team, the sales team, food and drink management, assistance in the golf shop and the quality of the championship golf course.
Each venue is marked independently to ensure a fair and unbiased representation.
General manager Gary Johnson commented: “Once again, we are delighted to reveal that we have been awarded another Silver Flag award from 59club that continues to recognise our commitment for providing the best guest experience possible at The Mere Golf Resort & Spa, and not just on our Championship Golf Course.”
During the evening, there were 21 awards across a variety of categories such as Greenkeeper of the Year and Golf Manager of the Year.
The highlight of the night was the 59club Industry Benchmark awards which are only given to the finest member clubs and commercial venues that achieve both the required standard of service and provide excellent facilities for golfers to enjoy.
