A sponsored walk around the Wilmslow Parish boundary took place on Saturday 13th May.
The Wilmslow ‘Beating the Bounds’ event raised funds for East Cheshire Hospice and was organised by the hospice’s Wilmslow Support Group.
131 people took part in Beating the Bounds this year, the second such event to be organised by the group, and they enjoyed glorious sunshine as they took part in a range of different walks – including:
– 15 mile boundary walk
– 8 mile walk (with minibus back to the start)
– 5 mile dog walk
– 4 mile family walk with picnic and games
– 2 mile leisurely stroll and tour of Styal village – with free afternoon tea!
– Photography walk with tuition
In total, nearly £8,000 has been raised for East Cheshire Hospice.
Spokesperson Ned Spencer commented: “We started Beating the Bounds in 2017 – about 60 people took part and we raised £5,000 for East Cheshire Hospice.”
“This year we have doubled the number of people taking part. Our fund raising for East Cheshire Hospice has increased to £8,000.”
Ned thanked all those who took part and added his thanks to local businesses who have supported the fundraising event.
