Strictly no running!

Walking hockey at The Edge

Alderley Edge Hockey Club has launched a new initiative at The Edge Hockey Centre today, Friday 8th September – Walking Hockey.

Walking Hockey is slow-paced version of hockey, played with bigger, plastic balls and on a small pitch.

It’s aimed at all ages, fitness levels and genders and is designed to help people keep active and - more importantly - have fun.

Prospective participants don’t need to be a club member to take part, or have any previous hockey experience, and you certainly don’t need to be able to run!

The club says it can even lend you a hockey stick so there really is no excuse not to give it a go!

Walking Hockey is a game is played with a healthy dose of fun and laughter and is a perfect opportunity to try a new sport and make new friends, whatever your age, fitness level or level of hockey skill.

Walking Hockey started today at The Edge Hockey Centre, The Ryleys Playing Fields, Wilmslow Road, Alderley Edge.

Sessions run from 11am until midday and cost £5, including a complimentary barista style coffee.
