SUSO (Speaking Up Speaking Out), a local charitable organisation run with/for adults with learning disabilities and/or additional needs, has announced the introduction of two new six-week training courses.
The courses are being provided thanks to funding from Cheshire East Council.
They will focus on elements of ‘The Five Ways to Wellbeing’ which are already part of the regular activities and workshops at the SUSO drop-in centre in Macclesfield.
SUSO currently opens Monday-Thursday and runs activities such as arts and crafts, singing, discussion, work skills and more.
The first of the new training courses is entitled ‘Connecting in Your Community’ and it will cover: connecting with friends, staying safe, volunteering, and social opportunities.
The second training course is called ‘Love to Learn’ and will be a simple taster of maths, literacy and IT to build confidence and encourage learners to continue learning.
Both training courses will offer an opportunity for adults with learning disabilities and/or additional needs to develop new skills and increase confidence.
Dates and times of the training courses will be confirmed by SUSO in coming weeks.
In the meantime, those interested in receiving information about these courses can call on 01625 424 717 or email: [email protected].
