Alderley Edge Parish Council has co-opted two new councillors, following the resignation of Ruth Norbury and Ilana Higham which was formally accepted by the remaining councillors on 5th November 2018.
According to minutes posted online, Illana Higham has not attended a full parish council meeting since January 2018. Her most recent attendance is recorded in June 2018, at a planning committee meeting.
According to the minutes, Ruth Norbury’s most recent attendance was at a full parish council meeting in September 2018.
There has been no announcement to press relating to either the resignations or the new appointments.
The identity of the two new co-opted councillors was confirmed this morning (8th January 2019) on the parish council’s website, where the page listing councillors’ names was updated.
The list now includes Cllr Beverley Chapman and Cllr Sarah Greenwood, who have each been allocated parish council email addresses.
It’s understood that both are joining as independent, rather than political party-affiliated, councillors of Alderley Edge Parish Council.
Their appointment is set to be formally recognised at the next parish council meeting – due to be held on 14th January 2019.
