Wilmslow High School launches Business Partner Programme

Shares

Guest speaker Esther McVey (Tatton MP and secretary of state for work and pensions) helped to launch Wilmslow High School’s new Business Partner Programme on Thursday (21st June).

The Business Partner Programme theme is: generating ambition, inspiration and opportunity for young people.

Its key aims are to connect business with education, to promote careers support for Wilmslow High School students and to achieve financial contribution through sponsorship opportunities.

The school says the programme has been welcomed by the business community who have been keen to forge links as well as develop a relevant business forum for the locality.

Welcoming an audience of over 100 attendees, headteacher Dr James Pulle spoke about the importance of the school being positioned at the centre of the community, particularly as ‘it takes a village to raise a child’ as the well-known phrase goes.

Guest speaker Esther McVey talked about the need for other schools to follow Wilmslow High School’s lead as a forward thinking school, trying to find creative ways in which businesses can support the educational experience and future outcomes of young people.

The next event will be a meeting on Tuesday 13th November. If you would like to attend please email [email protected].
