Following the postponement of the Cinema on The Carrs in early June, Wilmslow Town Council has now agreed a new summer date for the event.
The annual outdoor cinema spectacle in Wilmslow will now be taking place on Saturday 24th August.
Arrangements will follow the same format as for the original date – with the afternoon film being The Incredibles (at 2pm) and the evening feature being Mamma Mia Here We Go Again.
The event is free to attend and is being funded by Wilmslow Town Council.
The daytime family entertainment also includes the annual duck race, as well as a bouncy castle and an all-day themed food court.
Martin Watkins, chairman of Wilmslow Town Council said: “It was hugely disappointing that the weather intervened with our plans earlier this month.
“With the financial and organisational investment the town council make in this community event, it is important that the event is both safe and well-attended. The weather on the day vindicated our decision to postpone.
Martin added: “I would like to thank our commercial partners most notably Niche Event Hire for finding an alternative date and allowing us to deliver the event within our original budget.
“We hope that the sun shines on our new date and that the community of Wilmslow will support the event as enthusiastically as in previous years.”
