MP to take on Langley 7 race

Shares

Macclesfield MP David Rutley is taking part in this year’s Langley 7 race on 3rd November, to help raise awareness and funds for The Rossendale Trust.

The trust, of which David is a patron, is the race’s nominated recipient charity once again this year.

David will join around 250 other participants as they take on the seven-mile course, through hilly and challenging terrain in quiet lanes in the scenic countryside around the villages of Langley and Sutton.

The popular race, which has become a fixture in the local running calendar, is again being organised by the dedicated volunteer team at Macclesfield Harriers & Athletic Club.

They are aiming to raise over £3,000 to assist The Rossendale Trust in its work supporting local people with a range of physical and learning disabilities to live independently.

The trust currently supports nearly seventy tenants residing in apartments in Sutton and Buxton.

The Langley 7 run goes past the Rossendale Trust’s facilities near Macclesfield, and many of their tenants will be turning out to cheer the runners on.

David commented: “I am delighted to take part in this year’s Langley 7, to help make more people aware of the inspiring work that the Rossendale Trust does.”

He added: “I hope as many people as possible will donate towards this vital local charity, helping to support its transformational work into the future.”
