Piste Sandbach has closed suddenly, to the surprise of locals, becoming one of the first casualties of 2019.

In a statement posted on its website, owners said: “We’re really sorry.

“Unfortunately, it is with deep regret that due to unforeseen circumstances we are having to close Piste Sandbach with immediate effect.”

“Should you need to contact us, please get in touch at [email protected]

The company’s other restaurants in Tarporley and in Haughton, near Beeston, continue to trade.

The statement continued: “We apologise for any inconvenience caused and for anyone that has purchased vouchers, these can be redeemed at Piste Tarporley, or The Nags Head in Haughton, or a full refund should you wish.”

The message finished: “Thank you so much to everybody who has supported us over the past two years. It’s been very much appreciated.”

Customers are being invited to spend their gift vouchers at either Piste Tarporley or The Nags Head in Haughton.

Alternatively, if you would prefer a refund then you should forward details of your voucher to [email protected] using the email address the voucher was sent to.

If this is not possible, then you can instead send an email letting managers know the voucher code and email address that the voucher was sent to.

Once the voucher code has been checked against the email address that was used when it was purchased, a refund will be made within 48 hours to the card that was used to purchase the voucher originally.

No further explanation for the closure was offered as of Friday 4th January.

The Nags Head in Haughton

The Nags Head is the newest venue for the business, which is headed up by James Hughes, with head chef Mark Stubbert leading the kitchen.

It was taken over recently, having formerly been run by Nigel Haworth’s Northcote group.

Piste Tarporley

Piste Wine Bar & Restaurant in Tarporley opened its doors in 2010 after an extensive ‘Alpine chic’ refurbishment of the building it inhabits.

Here, head chef Thiago Fernandes leads in the kitchen – serving up a range of dishes using locally-sourced ingredients where possible.
