Stockport County Community Foundation has benefitted from a donation from Waitrose, after it was selected as one of the ‘green token’ causes in October.
A spokesperson for the club said: “We would like to thank everyone who has helped raise some vital funding following us being chosen for Waitrose Alderley Edge Community Matters October 2019 in-store green token scheme.”

The cheque which was presented to foundation manager Dave Wardle and Stockport County FC player/coach Sam Minihan.
The funding will go to support the future development of the foundation’s disability and mental health programme over the coming months.
“We are extremely proud of the opportunities we offer within our local community and surrounding areas,” explained the foundation’s spokesperson.
“Thank you to Waitrose Alderley Edge and to the generosity of all their customers in voting for Stockport County Community Foundation.”
